Police: Bicyclist ignores siren, hits squad car (AP)
AP – The Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office said a bicyclist inching down the center of the road ignored lights and siren and ran into a police car. The Minden Press-Herald reported that 47-year-old Robert Earl Batton of Minden was booked with second-offense DWI and possessing marijuana. Calls to Batton’s home were not answered Friday.

AP – Authorities blew up a stuffed pony — determined to be a “suspicious device” — after it was found outside a central Florida school. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reported that the toy was found near the Waterbridge Elementary School Tuesday morning.

AP – An Ohio man is on an 800-mile bike ride to attend his 50th high school class reunion in Massachusetts. Peter Noonan hit the road May 20 and is expected to arrive Thursday at Deerfield Academy, his old prep school in Deerfield, Mass.

AP – Police said a Connecticut man who appeared at a courthouse to answer a larceny charge broke into several cars in front of the building, took a GPS unit and inadvertently tried to sell it to its owner. Police said the arrest of 50-year-old Thomas Peno on Wednesday was his 40th.
